Bullish Cheniere Energy Chart

According to Platts data, the equivalent day-ahead price for the UK NBP Tuesday was $9.08/MMBtu. The US average spot price was $4.10/MMBtu.

FERC Tuesday gave Cameron LNG, a subsidiary of Sempra Energy, permission to start re-exporting LNG from its Louisiana terminal, making it the third US facility with permission to re-export internationally sourced LNG.

Sempra asked FERC and the Department of Energy for permission to ship the equivalent of 250 Bcf of gas for two years starting February 1. DOE signed off in December.

This is bullish for LNG stock.

Japanese utilities keen to import LNG from U.S. to diversify sources

SINGAPORE, March 2 (Reuters) - Two of Japan's biggest utilities are keen to import liquefied natural gas (LNG) from U.S. producers in an effort to diversify their supply sources, executives from the companies said.

"We are interested in the movements in the U.S. market and keeping an eye on developments there. More supply is always good news for buyers, and flexibility of supply is getting more important," said Sunao Nakamura, managing director of TEPCO Trading Corporation, at a LNG conference in Singapore on Tuesday.

TEPCO Trading is the trading arm of Tokyo Electric Power Co, Asia's biggest utility.

The massive increase in U.S. shale gas production and reserves in recent years has turned the U.S. gas market on its head, prompting traditional LNG importers to launch plans to export domestic gas overseas.

U.S. LNG can make up a small portion of a buyer's portfolio until the stability of supply can be ensured, said Hiroki Sato, head of LNG business at Chubu Electric Power Co, Japan's third-largest power firm. "The best portfolio will mix the best characteristics of several LNG projects," he told delegates at the conference.

Two projects in the U.S. Gulf -- Cheniere Energy and Freeport LNG -- are seeking regulatory approval to export LNG to higher-paying markets overseas.

The bet for export is that U.S. gas prices will stay low versus European and Asian gas prices over a 25-year period, making it profitable to produce and ship gas from the United States overseas.
Cheniere has signed non-binding agreements with a string of potential customers in Europe, Asia and the Americas in recent weeks.

Demand growth in Japan, currently the world's largest importer of LNG, is expected to remain steady at 2 percent per year to 2016 and reach 77 million tonnes.

Update: Cheniere Energy - LNG

Bulls are coming in because the arbitrage (taking advantage of a price difference between two or more markets) seems very clear as long as oil stays high over the next decade and natural gas prices in the US are low due to a glut here domestically. It makes a great case for arbitrage to export liquified natural gas at a base cost of around $4.50 MMBtu in the US and sell it for 2x - 3x that price in Asia and Europe.

We identified another exciting opportunity a few years ago with Interoil (NYSE - IOC) at $10.00. Then, like Blackstone with Cheniere, George Soros and others saw the vision and possibilities and jumped in big. IOC:NYSE is currently a seven bagger now. See Link

Here's what we need in this country....Jobs, an important Obama agenda item. The DOE approval coming at almost any day will grant us thousands of jobs and Cheniere should obtain relatively easy financing from JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley against their several "pending" definitive trading commitment contracts strategically aligned with the following entities through MOU's:

Spain's Endesa
Italy's Enel Spa
ENN Energy of China
Gas Natural Fenosa of Spain
Sumitomo of Japan
EDF Trading of France
Encana

Bechtel will do the engineering and construction. They are already on board.

Interest is lining up around the world to get in on this project as Cheniere's Co-Founder, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President Mr. Charif Souki negotiates the best play on our behalf with the help of supporters including: Gov. Bobby Jindal, Chesapeake Energy, Blackstone Group, the banks and the world's largest foreign trade partners.

This project caught our eye and frankly it will be Life Changing for anyone who can see CEO Charif Souki's vision, much like the vision of this business maharaja Mukesh Ambani.

As a student of John Paulson and David Tepper, all you need to do is step back and get a 40 ft view above the trees and ask yourself some simple questions like the one's we've faced over the past 3 years. Is housing going to sustain the run or crash? Will gold going higher in times of crisis? Will the stock market run if the FED is giving banks free money to invest to accelerate these markets? This arbitrage seems just as clear.

The time to get in this investment is now. We are about to embark on some historic "World Changing" events here in the US. Here is an earlier chart.

Our estimated target is between $15 - $20 per share once the DOE approval gets announced and the project takes hold. A 3 - 5 year target would be $30 - $40+ once the project starts reaching revenue projections.

Dryships - DRYS - Best Pick Since Nov 2008

Beating out most money managers for 2008, we came out of retirement with this post in November 2008 after seeing that several investors were getting absolutely slaughtered by the crooks on Wall Street who were pulling their bids on good stocks in an attempt to steal cheap shares when "Massive" sell orders hit Wall Street in what we would call forced Hedge Fund liquidations by scared investors. Japan Governmant Expands Stimulus Package By 6 Times To $131 Billion; Tokyo Announces Economic Measures Worth $295 Billion; Europe Backs $264 Billion

Japan's government said it would expand the size of funds set aside to recapitalise banks to 12 trillion yen ($131.1 billion) from 2 trillion yen and also announced a 1 trillion yen package to secure jobs. It was not clear how much of the money was new.

Tokyo has already announced a package of economic measures worth 27 trillion yen ($295 billion), which included 5 trillion yen in new spending and featured payouts to families, tax breaks on mortgages and relief for small firms.

"We are working at a very high speed. The size of the economic measures will be worked out until the last minute," Finance Minister Shoichi Nakagawa told a news conference just before the new measures were unveiled.

European Union leaders backed a 200 billion euro ($264 billion) economic stimulus pact, said British Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

Baltic Dry Index (BDI) +53 to 764

The BDI is turning up again as it advances 53 points today and bounces off its low point that it hit last week.

We think that this index may have bottomed last week and see the start of a shipping turnaround in process. Expect the shipping stocks to continue their rally despite the slight pullback yesterday. This looks a replay from December 2005 through October 2007. This is where you accumulate stock (at these cheap levels) before everyone figures it out. Any shares under the $10 - $12 level is an absolute steal.

The BDI Shipping Index Has Finally Turned Up

See the chart here. Now, are we overbought or is shipping a ground floor opportunity to get in? Looks like $3,000 to $230,000 is the target somewhere in 2009! Buy and Hold Through January - April when China imports the most ore for the year. Here are a few good reasons to Buy and Hold:
1) Banking is getting back online.
2) Investors are boarding shipping companies now.
3) Chinese steel makers wanted the new annual pricing for ore to start from January 1, instead of from April to get the shippers moving sooner. China’s iron ore stockpiles at its major ports and warehouses had exceeded a record 100-million tons.

YRCW Shorts Were Crushed This Week

We certainly missed this one when it was trading at a mere $1.50 the other day. Our sources show that the hedge funds shorted 17,000,000 shares of this stock and were forced to cover! This is a transportation stock and was due to come back to a "real" valuation multiple, and not a BK multiple. People overreacted and over sold this stock, just like many others have been oversold when the HF's hammered the bids on good quality stocks because their investors just plain "wanted out" at any cost a few weeks ago. What a shame! Many good stocks got massacred! We follow a few here. I think the shipping sector is going to bounce next once they get the banks online with their letters of credit to be able to support all the new China orders recently! Barclay's Bank will probably lead the way like Lehman did from what we are hearing. Get ready for an explosion when this happens because most have prepared for the worst, and well, we just don't see it. People still need to eat and the world economies need supplies and materials unless we're missing something here....consumption will still happen on a Global basis. Stay tuned.

A Real and Free Trading Lesson

Here's the Lesson:

People here who are bullish need to look up the word Intrinsic Value. OK, here you go... The actual value of a company or an asset based on an underlying perception of its true value including all aspects of the business, in terms of both tangible and intangible factors. This value may or may not be the same as the current market value. Value investors use a variety of analytical techniques in order to estimate the intrinsic value of securities in hopes of finding investments where the true value of the investment exceeds its current market value.

What happened around the week of November 17, 2008?

When the forced selling came in it didn't matter what the Intrinsic Value was for the stock. The mutual funds, margin call sell outs, and Hedge Fund's were forced to sell at "whatever" the price was. I'd call it CAPITULATION. The Key words "FORCED" and "CAPITULATION". Your opportunity to BUY! View it like a forced sell on your neighbors house if it had to be sold in one or two days. You are not going to get Top Dollar by any means but it will sell for a deep deep discount, right?

OK, then what happens?

Well, as a former WS trader that has seen this many times, the "traders" / "Market Makers" drop the Bid Price and keep dropping it to bring in the shares at the best price. If there was massive selling say at $15, the MM's dropped to $14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7 ,6 ,5 ,4....you see?

It doesn't mean that the price is the True Value. Its just where the MM's place the Bids until a buyer steps in who has $$$$ can take some heat. No one wanted to take any more heat as bids faded daily. People were scared. Again a buying opportunity to "leg" in as the stock kept falling....averaging in along the way.

So you might ask...What happens when the market ticks up and gets stronger? Well, as in the case of DryShips - DRYS, the MM's dont want to keep the Ask price or offer at $4.00 so they back away just like the reverse of the drop. The MM's move from $4 to $5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, then up to $20? $30? They keep moving up or lose their high cost shares at $5.00, 6, 7?? No way.

Anyways, the hard drops were done to get your shares too. This is how GS and Cantor make $100's of million in trading stocks every year! Get it? Yeah, its real. It happens all the time! Called, backing and filling....

My prediction based on past trading experience of over 25 years:

Look for a fierce bounce in the coming weeks as the smart money figures out that many stocks are trading well below their Intrinsic Values and we should get a bump from the worldwide stimulus packages too. Also, expect other Hedge Funds like George Soros and Paul Tudor to stop the liquidations at these absurd prices. George's traders were massively selling and he fired several of them. Rightly so. Go read about these HF's today.

OK, Have a good day. I hope that this was helpful? Be good.

DRYS - DryShips: Buy On Any Weakness

Look for any dips as a way to Buy shares in DRYS. This stock is completely undervalued. 60% of their ships have locked in high day rates for an average of 5 years. One fund has been a seller and probably sold whatever they had left: Wellington Fund. I guess its better to take them out at $4.40 than $5.50? The buyers have been UBS, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, Barclays, and others. This is at least a $30 stock folks. Company presentation October 6, 2008.

Friday, November 28, 2008

((((((((((((((((( OK, I'm Back )))))))))))))))))))

I think we have probably seen the bottom on the Dow around 11/21/2008 and we probably have another 1,000 points on the Dow to run still. Shorts are running to cover almost everywhere we look, and rightly so. The ST capitulation, margin sell-outs, forced brokerage sell-outs and HF forced sales from scared investors seem to be behind us. I love the recent news about George Soros and his HF's.

MY FAVORITE PICK RIGHT NOW IS: DRYS
Completely undervalued. The Intrinsic Value or real stock value appears to be somewhere between $30 - $40 per share! The MACD and Full STO signals have turned up too! This was once a $115 stock and got caught up in Hedge Fund and panic selling! The forced selling looks like it started around $20.00 and the bids were no where to be found so it dropped to the $4.30 level. Completely absurd at this level stll! The company is lead by who many are calling the next Aristotle Onasis. His name is George Economou, an MIT graduate with several business degrees and he knows the shipping business better than anyone in the world!

Now Is Not The Time To Panic - Article

Wall Street Journal Online Article

Receiving Emails About ...What Is Going On?

There seems to be a panic on the street and all logic usually goes out the window. While we are losing short term, I think that a bounce is warranted and soon. I would be holding stocks like AA, ATI, Delphi, AMX and a few others. Having made some markets in stocks years ago...when the markets look ugly and sellers keep hitting the bids, the strategy was to just drop the bids and keep dropping them until the selling stops, unfortunately. The values were worth more, but when everyone wants to sell at one time, it is usually the practice to drop. Its like trying to sell your house immediately today and there are really no buyers. The prices we see today are not what I would call "real". In time of chaos, and hype played up on programs like CNBC, we find that there is a limited market or no market for stocks when everyone panics as we have seen over the past few days. The fundamentals haven't changed so please remember that if you are nervous. Focus on the fundamentals and it will all work out.

Remember these very important lessons:
1) When the market is running and you get euphoric and you start calculating all the money that you are making - sell some stock and keep selling if it continues to run
2) When the market looks bad are you are scared beyond belief - buy some high quality stocks and leg in more on further drops
3) Repeat the process

SLAM the bids with huge blocks. Maybe even initiate a huge short position and drive out all stop orders and small investors, then re-buy those shares and then some. Following what appears to be a collapse in the stock, the manipulators take the stock to new highs when the real news is disseminated to the average folk. See for yourself. This is how the game is played.

Sources In London Say A Russian Metals Tycoon Is Looking At GM and Other US Assets

As you know, we follow the best metals companies, but Russians buying into GM? We think that more and more foreign tycoons are interested in top quality US assets. With all the insider buying going on in Titanium Metals (TIE- NYSE) we can see someone taking a strong interest in the US's #1 Titanium company as well. Analysts have a target on TIE at $41 and earnings and expansion plans seem to suggest that TIE is on the fast track to continue their 23% ROA and 38% ROE. The Rolls-Royce Trent 1000, launch engine for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, has received its airworthiness certification on schedule as well. Click - For News

TIMET Reports Second Quarter 2007 Results and Additional Titanium Melt Capacity Expansion Plans

PRNewswire
5:00 p.m. 08/07/2007

DALLAS, Aug 07, 2007 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Titanium Metals Corporation ("TIMET" or the "Company") (TIE) reported its net income attributable to common stockholders increased 41% to $76.3 million, or $0.42 per diluted share, for the quarter ended June 30, 2007, compared to $54.3 million, or $0.31 per diluted share, for the quarter ended June 30, 2006.
The Company's net sales increased 13% from $300.9 million during the second quarter of 2006 to $341.2 million during the second quarter of 2007 due primarily to increases in average selling prices and favorable changes in product mix. Overall industry fundamentals and outlook continue to support a long-term favorable trend in demand for titanium across all major industry market sectors which has favorably impacted melted and mill titanium prices. Current trends in market demands have also resulted in a shift of the Company's product mix toward an increased proportion of mill products, including a higher mix of aerospace plate and sheet products, which require additional processing and resources as compared to melted products, but which also command higher sales prices. While volumes of melted and mill products declined somewhat compared to the same period in the prior year due primarily to the near-term effects of production delays with certain commercial aircraft and other adjustments to build-out schedules of certain customers, increased pricing on our products and a favorable shift in product mix more than offset the effects of the decline in aggregate sales volume.
Operating income increased 26% to $118.0 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2007 compared to $93.6 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2006. In addition to increased production costs associated with the shift in product mix to a greater percentage of mill products, cost of sales also increased due to higher costs of certain raw materials, including titanium sponge. Despite the increased cost of sales associated with higher raw material and production costs, profitability improved, as the favorable effect of higher average selling prices and a favorable change in product mix more than offset the effect of the higher costs. Operating income comparisons were also impacted by a reduction in other operating income in 2007, due primarily to $4.1 million of equity in earnings TIMET recognized in the second quarter of 2006 from our VALTIMET joint venture that was sold in December 2006.
The Company's sales order backlog at the end of June 2007 was $1.0 billion compared to $1.0 billion at the end of March 2007 and $0.9 billion at the end of June 2006.
Steven L. Watson, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said, "We continue to see long-term favorable demand trends across all of our primary markets. Our facilities are operating at high capacity levels that improve cost efficiency, contributing to our record levels of operating income. While our near-term focus remains on maximizing our existing productive capacity through initiatives that emphasize efficiency, innovation and technological advances, we are also continuing our efforts to expand our productive capacity across all areas of our manufacturing operations. We are committed to maintaining the certainty, quality and reliability of supply to service the expanding needs of our current and prospective customers.
"Our 4,000 metric ton Vacuum Distillation Process ("VDP") sponge expansion in Henderson, Nevada commenced commercial production in April 2007, and we expect to be operating at full annual capacity of approximately 12,600 metric tons by the end of the third quarter of 2007. As part of our plans to assure our future supply of raw materials, we are continuing our design, engineering and site selection for a new VDP premium-grade sponge facility. We are also continuing to explore and pursue additional third-party long-term sources of sponge and scrap.
"Our electron beam cold hearth ("EB") melt capacity addition in Morgantown, Pennsylvania of approximately 8,500 metric tons, annually, is on schedule for an anticipated completion date of early 2008. We also commenced efforts to add a similar EB furnace at our Morgantown, Pennsylvania facility, scheduled to be completed in the last half of 2009. During 2007 we have also commenced construction of additional vacuum arc remelt ("VAR") capacity additions at our Witton, Morgantown and Savoie locations, all of which are expected to be completed by the end of the second quarter of 2008. Upon completion, these melt capacity additions will increase our EB melt capacity by approximately 107% and will increase our VAR capacity by approximately 34%. As we continue to adjust our long-term business plan in response to industry trends, we will consider more additions to our melt capacity based on our raw material sources and product mix.

Incredible Boeing Titanium Metals Supply Info

Sources say that....Boeing must invest hundreds of millions of dollars more this year than originally planned to keep pace with booming demand for their Dreamliner. R&D spending is projected to reach $3.7 billion this year, up from the previous estimate of between $3.2 billion and $3.4 billion.

3 Very Large Shareholders Are Banking On The Strong Demand In The World-Wide Refleeting Of Lighter Airplanes With Boeing, Airbus And Rolls Royce

1) Harold Simmons
2) HS's Friend - T Boone Pickens: BP Capital, Boone's first major post-Mesa venture, was virtually minting money. He had opened the energy hedge fund in the spring of 1997 with $10 million of his own money and another $26 million supplied by a group that included his Dallas billionaire buddy Harold Simmons and former Mesa directors Fayez Sarofim and John Cox. Today Boone owns over 552,000 shares of TIE. Within only two years, BP Capital’s funds had dwindled down to $3.4 million, but in 2000, gas finally began the ascent he had long predicted. He commenced what an associate later described as “one of the greatest trading runs of all time.” By the end of 2000, the fund was up to $252 million—a stunning gain of 7,300 percent.
3) Fidelity ownership

Higher fuel costs are increasing the demand to refleet old commercial aircraft to new stronger, lighter and on-corrosive aircraft. What are the materials used? Titanium, Aluminum and composite materials. Stocks to own now are: TIE, ATI, ZOLT

Spoke To Titanium Metals Today

Their plant expansion in Henderson, Nevada was completed a few months ago and the original plant was opened in 1940. Therefore, increased earnings should include revenues from this operation that may not yet be anticipated. TIMET's current annual sponge manufacturing capacity, including the recent 4,000 metric ton expansion in Henderson, Nevada, is approximately 12,600 metric tons. Plans for the new facility are expected to provide for an initial 10,000 to 20,000 metric tons of capacity to be built in phases.

Very Good Boeing News Today - Great For TIE and ATI

NEW DELHI, Jul 30, 2007 (The Canadian Press via COMTEX) --
India will likely need 911 new passenger jets over the next 20 years to meet the growing demand for air travel, Boeing Co. said Monday, announcing an upward revision to its earlier forecast. India's demand for new planes over the next 20 years could result in orders worth $86 billion at current list prices, making it one of the world's largest markets for new jets, Boeing said in its latest market outlook for India. India's rapid economic expansion in recent years, coupled with policies to break the monopoly of state-run companies in the airline sector has driven demand for air travel and new planes. In 2003, India had a fleet of only 121 planes, which has since increased to 257 with 387 firm orders for new planes by Indian firms. In the past two years, Boeing has won orders for 144 jets worth $21 billion, said Dinesh Keskar, Senior Vice President of sales. The success of private airlines and the surge in air travel has encouraged companies like Boeing to repeatedly revise their forecasts, Keskar said.

Alcoa News - New York Times

Click: Did BHP make an offer on Alcoa? A Source Says Yes.
.........

Some in the mining industry maintain that BHP is the only company with the means to buy Alcoa, probably in the $50 billion price range, given Rio Tinto’s offer for Alcan.

Mr. Meyer, however, said it might be possible that two other huge companies — Anglo American, the diverse South African-founded conglomerate now based in London, or Companhia Vale do Rio Doce of Brazil, which bought the Canadian nickel company Inco last year — may also have designs on Alcoa.

On Monday, the Brazilian company announced plans to build an alumina refinery in the northern part of the country with Hydro, a leading Norwegian producer of aluminum. It said in a statement that it had “strategic focus on bauxite and alumina.”

Representatives of Alcoa and BHP both declined to comment, although reports last week from Australia suggested that BHP was not interested in bidding for Alcoa.

But an executive with knowledge of Alcoa’s strategy, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the company received a buyout offer, most likely from BHP.

The timing remains the unknown.

China's Titanium Plants

Since titanium's initial applications, the number of end-use markets for
titanium has significantly expanded. Established industrial uses for titanium
include chemical plants, power plants, desalination plants and pollution control
equipment. Rapid growth of the Chinese and other Southeast Asian economies has
brought unprecedented demand for titanium-intensive industrial equipment.

In November 2005, Titanium Metals (TIE) entered into a joint venture with XI'AN BAOTIMET
VALINOX TUBES CO. LTD. ("BAOTIMET") to produce welded titanium tubing in the
Peoples Republic of China. BAOTIMET's production facilities will be located in
Xi'an, China, and production is expected to begin in early 2007.
